Artist's Comments
"Dryads are tree spirits in Greek mythology. Technically speaking, dryads are the nymphs of oak trees, but the term has come to be used for all tree nymphs in general. Drys in Greek signifies 'oak,' from an Indo-European root *derew(o)- 'tree' or 'wood."
And here is #10! The non animal metamorphosis in this series. *lockstock is the fabulous model of course. I repainted the entire photograph. You can find the original here:

This is my favourite metamorphosis so far. I tried some different colouring again and I think the results is quite satisfying, less monochromatic than usual. The roots took me forever, they are a combination of photographs and painting. Lots and lots a lots of painting.
The orginal image size is 5400 x 3600px
